Your gift makes a real difference in the lives of hungry Americans. For every dollar you donate, Feeding America is able to distribute 9 pounds of food to hungry Americans! So far, 73 truckloads--or 2.2 million pounds--of food and grocery items have been secured, 22 were provided by Feeding America food banks to affected areas along with support personnel.
Increasing awareness of hunger in America is crucial to ending hunger. When you increase awareness of the hunger issue among your friends, family, and colleagues, you not only let others know that a problem exists, you also encourage others to get involved, to dispel some of the myths about hunger in America, and to get people talking about a problem that so many do not know or believe exists in the richest nation in the world.
